New Innovation Hub Opens at Tallaght University Hospital

Tallaght University Hospital (TUH) is today launching a new Innovation Hub at the Hospital. The hub was developed with the support of Amazon Web Services (AWS) volunteers as part of the Hospital’s strategy to encourage and develop leading creativity and innovation in healthcare delivery.
The Innovation Hub provides a centrally located place in TUH where ideas can be developed and fostered .
Chief Executive of TUH Lucy Nugent said: “We are delighted to be officially opening this Innovation Hub at TUH, and we are grateful to the support of AWS and their staff volunteers in developing this. Leadership in research and innovation are central to delivering better care, and this will build upon our reputation to attract and retain talented people.
“It’s our hope that this Innovation Hub can be a benefit as an innovative space where the staff, patients and visitors of TUH can meet to create new healthcare solutions. It shows how working together we can develop the best in healthcare for people.
This space will provide an opportunity for staff across the organisation to engage with the culture of innovation and continuous improvement, and enable them to contribute ideas big and small that will make a real difference to how we at TUH care for people to live better lives.
AWS has provided the latest technology to the hub to support the development of innovative ideas, including Alexa driven voice recognition devices and Kindle devices.
